It is helpful to have someone measure your head circumference. For the greatest accuracy and comfort, follow these simple helmet measuring tips.

Sizing up your helmet!

  • Measure the circumference of the head using a cloth or paper measuring tape, string, shoelace, ribbon, or a strip of paper
  • Place your measuring device approximately one inch (about 2.5cm) above the eyebrows, above the ears and around the back point of the head where the results provides the largest measurement. Be sure to take the reading OVER your hair, unless you are going to cut it all off before you wear the helmet.
  • Please take this measurement a few times to ensure accuracy.
  • Grip the measured location with your fingers and read the number (be sure to read to at least 1/8” or ½ cm.) If you are using a string or paper, lie on the table and measure the length with a ruler. Please repeat this process until you are happy you have measured correctly. To convert inches to centimeters by multiplying your measurement by 2.54 (example 28 inches = 28 X 2.54 cm.)
  • It can be difficult to determine if the helmet measurement is between sizes. One option is to choose the next larger size as padding can always be added to provide the perfect fit. The helmet should fit snug, but not overly tight. If you prefer a tighter fit choose a size down.1
  • Compare measurement to our helmet sizing chart. Now you are ready to purchase your Allsportshelmet.com happy helmet!
  • Match your inch or centimeter measurement to our helmet sizing chart above.

1Note about hair and helmet sizing: If you have a thick head of hair, or wear your hair pulled under your helmet or in a pony tail, you may want to consider ordering 1 size up from what is shown on the sizing charts...especially if you are near the top of your size range.

Getting the right helmet size is another step towards helmet happiness!
